Photoatlas of Inclusions in Gemstones, Volume 3

Vol. 3 due in 2008

Photoatlas Volume 3, the companion book to Volume 2 released in December of 2005, is due for release in 2008. This third and final Photoatlas volume highlights two distinct areas : inclusions in the major commercial gems, diamonds, emeralds, rubies and sapphires and inclusions in rare and unusual host materials such as ekanite and taaffeite.

This last book in the Photoatlas photomicrographic library culminates the combined work of over 100 years of detailed, dedicated study of the world of inclusions in gems by the acclaimed gemmological masters of the subject. Gubelin and Koivula have provided gemmologists with three reference volumes to be kept next to the microscope and used as instruments. This is the intention of the authors, to give you the reader, a definitive resource on the ever changing world of gems and their inclusions.

Each chapter in Volume 3 contains useful information on the micro-characteristics of natural, synthetic and treated host materials along with numerous color photomicrographs and a selected reference section.
