GIA’s
eleventh Gemstone Gathering has presented by Mr. Garry Du Toit. The
topic was, “Micro Raman and
Photoluminescence Spectroscopy and their uses in Gem Identification.”

Garry
Du Toit’s gemological career began in Bangkok, Thailand in 1990.
Before his recent move back to Thailand in 2007 to join GIA Laboratory
Bangkok, Garry worked as the Laboratory Manager and one of the founding
employees at the AGTA GTC (American Gem Trade Association, Gem Testing
Center) in New York, USA.
