GIA
Laboratory Bangkok and GIA Thailand Campus brings
Mr.
Alan Hodgkinson in Bangkok Gems & Jewelry Fair#
42nd

In
association with the Thai Gem & Jewelry Traders Association GIA’s
Thailand Campus and GIA Laboratory, Bangkok are honored to present Alan
Hodgkinson F.G.A., D.G.A., as the principle speaker at this year’s
GIA GemFest Thailand.

Alan,
who lives in the beautiful town of Portencross by West Kilbride in Scotland,
regularly leaves his green and pleasant land to avail the world of the
gemological techniques he has developed over his more than three decade
love affair with all things associated with gemstones. He is without
question one of the world’s most renowned gemologists, lecturers
and authors.
Alan’s
enthusiasm for gemstones and gemology is infectious; those attending
his lectures cannot get enough of his easily understandable and simple
techniques that yield vital information without expending large amounts
of money on high-tech equipment. He has been the recipient of many honors,
including - Honorary Registered Valuer UK, Honorary Member Canadian
Gemmological Association, Freeman Worshipful Company of Goldsmiths,
Freeman City of London, and was the the first recipient of the Antonio
Bonanno Award. Alan is the developer of Hodgkinson's Visual Optics.
He is currently President of the Eastwood Chamber of Trade and Commerce,
and he is working on a book entitled "Diamond & Gemstones -
A Practical Identification Manual."

GIA
Laboratory’s MD for South East Asia, Kenneth Scarratt, comments;
“this is an opportunity not to be missed, you cannot fail to be
enthused by just listening to Alan”. H. Randal Park the Director
of the GIA Educational Campus in Thailand echoes these sentiments and
adds “GIA is proud that it was able to persuade Alan to come to
Thailand especially for this event and we thank The Thai Gem and Jewelry
Traders Association for their support and providing the venue”.

GIA
Thailand Campus and GIA Laboratory Bangkok look forward to the opportunity
to serve visitors at the next Bangkok Gems and Jewelry Fair between
