You will spend over 18 hours practicing Diamond Grading techniques with actual diamonds. Plus, our one-on-one coaching and integrated video help you master the information you are being introduced to. Under the watchful eye of your GIA instructor, you will also learn good techniques for using the gem microscopes.

 

What you learn :

GIA's internationally recognized Diamond Grading System™ and how to judge and grade clarity, color, carat weight and cut quality factors of round brilliant diamonds.

• How to find, identify and plot clarity characteristics.
• How to grade diamonds in the normal color range and fancy colored diamonds.
• How cut affects light return, beauty and value.
• How to determine table, crown angle, pavilion and depth measurements.
• How to compare the properties of diamond and diamond simulants and imitations.
